How QuietTrust works
One tap tells your circle you need help. That is all it does. For messages, use WhatsApp. For alerts, use QuietTrust.
Start
- Open QuietTrust and enter your name and number.
- Tap Start a circle, or Join a circle if someone invited you.
- Go to Settings → Alert check and switch on what it suggests.
Invite someone
- Go to Your circle and tap Invite someone.
- They open QuietTrust, tap Join a circle, and scan your QR code from there or type the 16-character code. An invite works once, for 15 minutes.
- If there are already two or more of you, someone other than the person who invited them lets them in.
Ask for help
- Press I need help. The button turns light red for 5 seconds.
- Pick a message, press again to send at once, or press Stop. If you do nothing, I need help goes.
- You then have 5 seconds to Undo.
- Press I'm OK now when you are fine.
When someone asks
The card at the top of the Alert screen turns from green to red. Open it, then tap I can help or Call, or Write an answer. Your whole circle sees the answers.
Your choices
- Who gets my alerts: use the Gets my alerts switch on each person's card. Everyone in the circle can see your choice.
- My one-tap messages: edit and reorder them in Settings.
- Trusted numbers: anyone in the circle can add one, and everyone sees it. A number goes if the person who added it leaves.
- Removing someone is a vote. It passes with more than half of the others.
- Everyone in the circle can see your name and phone number.
Good to know
- Test it with your circle. Phones differ, and battery savers can delay alerts.
- On an iPhone, the silent switch can keep an alert quiet.
- In danger? Call 999 / 112 first. QuietTrust passes your message to your circle. It doesn't promise that anyone will answer and it isn't an emergency service.
